I have built a life in the service of education, and building a strong community. My purpose in all of my endeavors is to leave things better than I found them. I believe that putting something beautiful into the world is a worthwhile goal, and one worth helping everyone pursue.
To that end, I spend the lion's share of my time coaching high school and collegiate Speech and Debate, which allows me to contribute to academic and artistic discourse by helping young people discover their voices.
I have also recently joined the board of the Arizona Talks Civic Action Network, which has a goal of mobilizing communities to engage in meaningful civic participation.
I am currently working on several individual artistic projects including a photographic exploration of the city of Tempe, some electronics tinkering with artistic light painting in mind, and learning to blacksmith.
